Job summary

SAKSOFT PTE LIMITED is seeking a Lead Platform & Release Engineer to drive enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines and platform reliability. You will manage multi-environment deployments across Development, SIT, UAT, Pre-Production, and Production, ensuring consistency and operational readiness.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of hands-on software development, strong Python/Django backend experience, Linux/Unix administration, and a proven track record in DevOps, automation, and release management.

Key Skills:
Backend development: Python/Django/REST API Frameworks.

OS skills: Linux/Unix, Shell Scripting, SSH, Application Monitoring and Analysis and Support.

Infra skills: MS-SQL / Oracle (Design, Queryusing SQL, Optimize Queries), Apache Web Server, Jenkins, Git, and Infra Setup for applications

Key Responsibilities:

·Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines to support software development, testing, deployment, and release activities.

·Manage application environments across Development, SIT,UAT, Pre-Production, and Production, ensuring consistency, stability, and operational readiness.

·Establish and enforce technical quality standards throughout project delivery by adopting Software Development Methodology (SDM) guidelines, Agile practices, DevOps principles, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and automated testing practices.

·Plan, coordinate, and execute application releases, deployment activities, production cutovers, and rollback procedures with minimal operational risk.

·Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Infrastructure Teams, and Security Teams to ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, security policies, risk controls, and technology governance requirements.

·Develop and maintain platform engineering standards, deployment patterns, release procedures, operational runbooks, and environment management documentation.

·Ensure system implementations conform to approved solution architectures, technology roadmaps, scalability requirements, and operational support models.

·Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operational effort, improve deployment reliability, and increase engineering productivity.

·Monitor and continuously improve release performance, deployment success rates, platform stability, and operational metrics.

·Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, project teams, vendors, and support teams regarding platform capabilities, release schedules, deployment issues, and production support activities.

·Support incident resolution, root cause analysis, problem management, and implementation of preventive measures to improve platform reliability and operational resilience.

·Work closely with application development teams to enable seamless deployment and operation of Python-based backend applications and associated frontend components.

·Analyse impacts of infrastructure and deployment changes on existing systems, evaluate technical risks, and implement optimal solutions that maintain system integrity and service availability.

• At least 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development, implementation, production support, and application maintenance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong experience in designing, developing, and supporting large-scale, highly available enterprise applications.
• Proven experience in solution architecture, technical solutioning, system design, and application modernization initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python/Django-based backend frameworks.
• Experience designing and implementing integrations with MQ, APIs, microservices, and high-volume batch processing systems.
• Strong experience working on Linux/Unix platforms, including system administration and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience in Shell scripting for automation, monitoring, deployment, and operational tasks.
• Experience with DevOps concepts, practices, and tools.
• Experience managing and supporting Jenkins-based CI/CD processes, including build monitoring, deployment execution, release coordination, job troubleshooting, and production deployment support.
• Strong experience with Git version control, including branching, merging, pull requests, conflict resolution, and repository management.
• Experience with a variety of source control systems, development tools, and SDLC practices.
• Basic knowledge of Apache HTTP Server/Web Services, including configuration, deployment, log analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and application connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience coordinating and validating network port openings, firewall rule changes, connectivity testing, and environment readiness activities.
• Proficiency in SSH (Secure Shell) in terms of secure server access, remote administration, file transfers (SCP/SFTP), and production support activities.
• Experience in application monitoring, production support, incident management, log analysis, root cause analysis, problem management, and service restoration activities.
• Experience in troubleshooting applications, infrastructure, deployment, and integration issues across multiple environments.
• Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Good to Have (Not Mandatory)

• Knowledge and working experience with Rocket DevOps (RDOe), including deployment automation, release orchestration, and environment management.
• Experience with Control-M or other enterprise workload automation/scheduling tools.
• Exposure to application performance monitoring (APM), system monitoring, and observability tools.
• Experience in banking or financial services applications and regulatory environments.
