Our client, a leading European MNC, seeks a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the development of high-precision equipment for semiconductor and advanced engineering sectors. You will guide a cross-border team and mentor engineers in India, translating complex requirements into robust mechanical solutions.

Responsibilities include overseeing concept-to-detail design, conducting design reviews, and coordinating global project delivery while collaborating with customers and system architects

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in semiconductor equipment or high-tech systems.
• Strong expertise in mechanical design and translating requirements into detailed designs.
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFM, DFA and DFMEA.

Job description

Our client is a leading European MNC in designing and developing high-tech systems(assembly equipment, machine control systems, medical equipment etc). The Singapore team houses the Development centre and we are looking for the following position of:

Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Lead the mechanical design and development of high-precision equipment and systems used in the semiconductor and advanced engineering industries. You will work closely with customers and international engineering teams to translate technical requirements into mechanical designs, while guiding engineers in India to deliver complex mechanical components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Design – Oversee mechanical design and development from concept to detailed design for semiconductor equipment, precision machinery andinstrumentation.
• Translate Customer Requirements – Understand customer specifications and convert them into practical mechanical designs, engineering requirements and technicaldocumentation.
• Drive Design Quality – Lead design reviews and ensure designs meet precision, reliability and manufacturing requirements through GD&T, DFM/DFA and DFMEA.
• Manage Engineering Projects – Coordinate project schedules, resources and engineering deliverables while working closely with customers, system architects and international teams.
• Lead and Support Engineering Teams – Guide and mentor mechanical engineers based in India, provide technical direction and support regional customers during equipment installation and commissioning.

Requirements

• Education– Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineeringdiscipline.
• RelevantExperience – At least 8 years of mechanical engineering experience in semiconductor equipment, precision machinery or high-tech equipmentdevelopment.
• Mechanical Design Expertise – Strong experience in mechanical design, concept development and translating system requirements into detailed engineering designs.
• EngineeringStandards – Good knowledge of GD&T, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Designfor Assembly (DFA) and DFMEA.
• TechnicalLeadership – Proven ability to lead mechanical engineering projects, work with international engineering teams and communicate effectively with customers andstakeholders. Willingness to travel to the Netherlands and India.
