Job summary

RED, part of Tractebel, is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer in Singapore. Based in our Singapore office, you will lead large and small projects, engage with clients, and coordinate engineering services for mechanical and electrical installations across multiple sectors, including data centres and hospitality.

You will guide design teams, ensure compliance with safety standards, and work hands-on to deliver robust solutions in a fast-paced consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed or degree qualified or equivalent experience.
• Working towards or achieved professional chartership.
• Experience in specification design/drawing for at least one building type.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety issues and legislation.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
• Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
• Good understanding of BS and international design codes and standards.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Managerial skills and ethical practice.

Responsibilities

• Run large and complex projects with client facing responsibilities.
• Develop and coordinate design and engineering services for mechanical or electrical installations.
• Specify controls, instruments and operating systems for building services.
• Conduct surveys and dilapidation reports of existing installations.
• Ensure work meets specifications and customer requirements.
• Make day-to-day decisions on project progress and liaise with clients.
• Represent the company at technical meetings with customers and contractors.
• Ensure calculations and drawings meet industry and legal standards.
• Lead coordination of engineering services and apply holistic concepts.
