Job summary

RED, a Tractebel company, seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to be based in Singapore. You will lead large and small projects, run client-facing design and coordination for mechanical services and data centres, and work across commercial, hotel, retail sectors.

The role requires robust building services expertise, strong communication, and the ability to deliver innovative, compliant engineering solutions while mentoring junior staff in a hands-on consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed or degree qualified with international consulting engineering experience.
• Working towards MCIBSE/MIEE/Professional/Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience of specification design/drawing for at least one building type.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety issues and legislation.
• Familiarity with BS and international design codes.

Responsibilities

• Run large projects with client-facing development, design and coordination of services for mechanical or electrical installations.
• Develop specifications for controls, instruments and operating systems.
• Surveys, tests, and dilapidation reports on existing installations.
• Ensure activities meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Make day-to-day decisions on project progress and advise clients.
• Represent the company at technical meetings with customers and contractors.
• Ensure drawings and calculations meet industry standards.
• Lead coordination of engineering services across disciplines.
