Job summary

Brunel in Singapore is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of rotating machinery and packaged mechanical systems for large-scale industrial projects.

You will work with engineering disciplines, project teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure technical excellence across the project lifecycle, while mentoring a team of engineers and contributing to tender activities. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–10 years delivering mechanical solutions for large industrial facilities.
• Experience leading activities on complex EPC or DB projects.
• Familiar with full lifecycle: engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning.
• Knowledge of international engineering standards and mechanical practices.
• Experience in equipment specification and supplier coordination.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in energy, process, petrochemical, offshore or heavy industry advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of rotating machinery and packaged systems for major projects.
• Develop and review technical deliverables, specs, data sheets, and requisitions.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to integrate mechanical systems in plant design.
• Support procurement through technical evaluations and supplier discussions.
• Review supplier submissions for compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Ensure work aligns with industry standards and client expectations.
• Participate in inspections, factory testing, site activities, commissioning, and start-up.
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning, resolving issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers on technical matters.
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold high engineering standards.
• Assist with proposals and tenders through take-offs, reviews, and budgeting.
• Occasional travel to project sites or overseas locations as required.
