Job summary

Seatrium Limited in Singapore is seeking a proactive Low Voltage Electrical Engineer to design, review and coordinate LV systems for marine vessels and offshore structures, supervising junior engineers and supporting operations and commercial teams.

You will work on power distribution, lighting, control panels, and instrumentation, prepare drawings and specifications, and ensure compliance with marine classification societies and IEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical/Marine Engineering.
• 3-5 years LV electrical engineering experience in shipyard/marine.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Familiarity with PLCs and motor control systems.
• WSQ Low Voltage Switching Operations or equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced shipyard.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed engineering design and drawings for low voltage systems.
• Supervise and guide subordinates to ensure design quality and compliance.
• When Lead Engineer, plan, organize and manage engineering activities.
• Provide leadership and technical direction and communicate project matters to stakeholders.
• Design and review LV electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, control panels, and instrumentation.
• Prepare and maintain drawings, cable schedules, load lists, and single-line diagrams.
• Prepare purchase specifications for electrical equipment and materials.
• Support procurement activities ensuring timely delivery and quality.
• Collaborate with production teams, subcontractors, and vendors during construction.
• Ensure designs comply with ABS, DNV, Lloyd's, IEC standards and Singapore regulations.
• Assist in planning and execution of FAT, SAT, and commissioning.
• Provide engineering support to Operations and Commercial Departments.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to process improvements and cost-effective solutions.
