Job summary

Delta Silicon Photonics is seeking a Scientist in Signal Processing & Sensing to lead DSP algorithm development for FMCW LiDAR and related systems. The role focuses on transforming raw data into accurate 3D point clouds through advanced signal processing and calibration techniques.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to optimize fixed-point implementations and validate algorithms with field data, driving robustness in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Communications, Physics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of DSP algorithm development experience for FMCW LiDAR, Radar, or Coherent Optical Communications.
• Strong mathematics in estimation theory, spectral analysis, digital filtering, and detection algorithms.
• Expert-level MATLAB and Python (NumPy/SciPy) for algorithm prototyping and dynamic system modeling.

Responsibilities

• DSP Algorithm Development: design, prototype, and refine advanced signal processing algorithms for FMCW LiDAR.
• Impairment Compensation & Calibration: develop digital algorithms to mitigate laser chirp non-linearity, phase noise, I/Q imbalance, and thermal drift.
• Detection & Point Cloud Extraction: optimize detection algorithms for low-SNR environments and maximize point cloud density.
• Hardware-Software Co-Design: collaborate with Electronics and Embedded SW teams to define fixed-point implementation requirements, memory footprints, and compute workloads for FPGA/DSP targets.
• Validation & Field Data Analysis: analyze raw digitized waveforms to validate algorithm accuracy and robustness in real-world edge cases.
