Job summary

Virtuos is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Engineer to guide a diverse team in designing, implementing, and optimizing production-grade tools for video game asset pipelines and production workflows. The role emphasizes leadership, scalable backend in Python, and modern frontend skills with cloud deployment.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate across UI/UX, production, SRE, and IT, and contribute to architecture and agile practices while delivering robust, production-ready software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience building production applications as a full-stack engineer.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python (FastAPI or Flask), RESTful API design, and SQLAlchemy/Pydantic or similar tooling.
• Proficiency in Vue or React, including routing, state management, and component libraries.
• Experience with public cloud like AWS/GCP.
• Relational DBs (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL familiarity; caching/messaging (Redis).
• Experience with automated tests (pytest) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab CI/CD and Docker.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Own prompting strategy at scale: system prompts, guardrails, and hyperparameters.
• Design tool interfaces for agents: MCP servers, structured IO, sub-agent patterns.
• Champion typed-agent frameworks with observability baked in.
• Evaluate and integrate local LLM options when latency or data residency demands.
• Design and build scalable backend services and secure RESTful APIs in Python.
• Model, query, and optimize data across relational and NoSQL databases; implement caching/messaging.
• Enforce authentication/authorization, input validation, and robust error handling.
• Write tests (pytest) and perform performance tuning; review code and document.
• Lead engineers, collaborate with UI/UX, production, SRE and IT; work in agile teams.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We're seeking a lead Full-Stack Engineer to lead a diverse team to design, implement, and optimize production-grade tools and applications that support video game asset pipelines and production workflows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Agent loop & harness engineering
  • Own prompting strategy at scale: system prompt design, guardrails, mitigation of context poisoning and pollution, and management of hyperparameters (context window sizing, lost-in-the-middle effects, temperature, top-k).
  • Design tool interfaces for agents: MCP servers, structured inputs/outputs for context, and sub-agent composition patterns.
  • Champion best practices for typed-agent frameworks, with first-class observability and telemetry baked into every agent.
  • Evaluate and integrate local LLM options where latency, cost, or data-residency requirements demand it.
• Backend
  • Design and build scalable backend services and secure RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI or Flask).
  • Model, query, and optimize data across relational and NoSQL databases; implement caching and messaging when needed.
  • Enforce authentication/authorization, input validation, and robust error handling.
• Quality, performance, and delivery
  • Write comprehensive tests with tools such as pytest.
  • Own performance tuning, troubleshooting, code reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD with Git and GitLab; use Docker for local development and deployment pipelines.
• Collaboration and process
  • Lead a group of engineers to deliver AI/Software project.
  • Partner with UI/UX, backend, production, SRE, and IT stakeholders to deliver user-centric solutions.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor junior engineers.
  • Work within agile methodologies, continuously improving team practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of professional experience building production applications as a full-stack engineer.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python (FastAPI or Flask), RESTful API design, and SQLAlchemy/Pydantic or similar tooling.
• Proficiency in Vue or React, including routing, state management (Vuex/Pinia or Redux), and component libraries.
• Proven experience working on public cloud like AWS/GCP
• Database proficiency with relational systems (PostgreSQL) and familiarity with NoSQL (MongoDB, Vector DB); experience with caching and message queues (Redis) is valued.
• Proven testing mindset and experience with automated test suites.
• Comfortable with Git, GitLab CI/CD, and Docker.
• Clear communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Nice to have
  • Experience with agent development frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph) is a plus.
  • Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
