Job summary

HTX, Singapore's science and technology agency, is recruiting AI engineers to develop and train ML/DL models for public safety applications. You will handle data prep, collaborate with software engineers for production-grade code, and deploy solutions on GCC cloud or local machines.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in AI model training, Python proficiency, and experience with OpenCV, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate/tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field.
• 2–3 years hands-on experience in AI model training and application software engineering, including data preparation.
• Proficiency in Python programming (min. 2 years).
• Knowledge of large model fine-tuning and deployment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop/train machine learning/deep learning AI models or multi-modal models for Home Team use cases.
• Handle data pre-processing and annotation for model training.
• Collaborate with software engineers to write production-quality code and deploy CV-related solutions on Cloud (GCC) or local machines.
• Work with Product Management to translate product requirements into model requirements.
• Optimize performance of in-house AI solutions through hyperparameter tuning and efficiency improvements.
• Document and communicate model design to stakeholders.
• Provide technical advisory and review related articles to support decision making.
• Keep abreast of new AI technologies and improve HTxAI's AI engineering capability.
• Collaborate with external partners to co-develop AI solutions.
• Learn and share knowledge in a multi-disciplinary team.

What You Will Be Working On

• Develop/train machine learning / deep learning AI models or large/multi-modal models to address Home Team use cases
• Handle data pre-processing and annotation for model training and development
• Working closely with the software engineers to write production quality code and deploy computer vision related solution for use by Home Team on either Cloud Platform (GCC) or local machine.
• Work closely with Product Management team to translate product requirements into machine learning / deep learning model requirements.
• Continually optimise performance of in-house developed AI solution through hyperparameter tuning, increase run-time efficiency and reduce computational costs.
• Document and communicate deep learning model design to different technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical advisory and review related technical articles to support key business decision and project decision making.
• Keep abreast of new AI technologies development and continuously improve HTxAI's AI engineering capability.
• Collaborate with external partners to co-develop novel AI solutions or enhance existing in-house solutions.
• Learn and share knowledge in a multi-disciplinary team both internally and externally.

What We Are Looking For

• Postgraduate / Tertiary qualification in any of the following: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or any relevant areas.
• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in AI model training and application software engineering, including data preparation.
• Min. 2 years of Python coding experience.
• Some working knowledge of Large Model fine-tuning and deployment is preferred.
• Familiar with open-source frameworks such as OpenCV, Pytorch and Tensorflow.
• Able to develop AI applications and deploy the applications using docker containers with RESTful APIs.
• Able to do Bash and PowerShell Scripting on Linux Operating system.
• Practical experience with Cloud environment is strongly preferred.
• Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams multi-disciplinary / multi-agencies teams.
• Able to communicate technical concepts and conduct demos in a clear and effective manner to stakeholders of varying technical background.
• Knowledge of emerging AI-related technologies and trends
• Self-motivated, team player, creative with excellent communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
• Having domain knowledge in Homeland Security sector will be an added bonus.
• Applicants with more than 5 years' relevant experience will be considered for more senior positions.

All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
