Job summary

Heritage Hospitality Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee day-to-day maintenance, repair and operational readiness of all hotel facilities and guest rooms. You will diagnose and rectify engineering issues, respond to guest requests, and mentor the Engineering Trainee in a luxury hotel setting.

The role requires preventive maintenance planning, statutory compliance, and contractor management, with a focus on on-floor responsiveness and cross-department support.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management, or related discipline.
• Proven hands-on experience in building maintenance, fault diagnosis and hotel engineering operations.
• Able to work independently while leading a small engineering function.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair works across all hotel facilities.
• Lead daily engineering operations with trainee and contractors.
• Ensure facilities and equipment remain fully operational and safe.
• Monitor work orders for timely completion.
• Conduct routine inspections of guestrooms, public areas, kitchens and back-of-house facilities.
• Minimise downtime through proactive maintenance planning.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to the trainee.
• Support Front Office and Housekeeping in resolving maintenance issues.
• Inspect guestrooms to maintain luxury hotel standards.
• Rectify guestroom defects before room release.
• Ensure engineering stores have adequate stock levels.
• Liaising with external vendors on contracts.

Position Summary

The Lead Engineer is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair and operational readiness of all hotel facilities and guest rooms.

As the lead engineer on property, this role actively performs maintenance works, diagnoses and rectifies engineering issues, attends to guest requests, and leads by example in ensuring the hotel is maintained to luxury hospitality standards.

Working closely with the Director of Operations, the role is responsible for preventive maintenance planning, statutory compliance, contractor management and asset preservation while providing guidance and on-the-job coaching to the Engineering Trainee.

This position is expected to spend the majority of its time on the hotel floor, responding to operational needs and supporting all departments.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Operations & Technical Leadership

• Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair works across all hotel facilities, guestrooms, public areas and back-of-house areas.
• Lead daily engineering operations while working alongside the Engineering Trainee and external contractors.
• Ensure all hotel facilities and equipment remain fully operational and safe.
• Monitor work orders to ensure timely completion.
• Conduct routine inspections of guestrooms, public areas, kitchens, restaurants, offices, and back-of-house facilities.
• Minimise equipment downtime through proactive maintenance planning.
• Provide technical guidance and practical on-the-job training coaching to the trainee.
• Support Front Office and Housekeeping in resolving maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform routine guestroom inspections to ensure all rooms are maintained to luxury hotel standards.
• Rectify guestroom defects before room release.
• Ensure engineering stores are organised with adequate stock levels.
• Liaising with external vendors on contracts

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management, or related discipline.
• Proven hands-on experience in building maintenance, fault diagnosis and hotel engineering operations.
• Able to work independently while leading a small engineering function.
• Minimum5 years' experience in hotel engineering, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead technician role.
• Strong knowledge of ACMV, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems and general building maintenance.
