Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Lead to create and evolve Reference Designs for hyperscale and retail data centre products in Singapore. You will ensure scalability, resilience, cost efficiency and compliance with global standards.

You will partner with Design Delivery, Construction and Operations teams, lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and champion innovations in liquid cooling and advanced monitoring across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• 5+ years in mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of data centre electrical systems.
• Experience with controls systems and system integration.
• Familiar with regional electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain electrical reference designs for hyperscale and retail data centre offerings.
• Design resilient, scalable electrical distribution and substation systems for high-density environments.
• Ensure compliance with regional electrical codes and internal standards (IEC, NEC, CCC, etc.).
• Conduct engineering analyses, feasibility studies, and value engineering to optimise cost and performance.
• Lead localisation of designs with Design Delivery and Construction teams.
• Partner with Operations to drive reliability and continuous improvement.
• Review and approve critical equipment submittals, FATs, and acceptance testing.
• Lead with suppliers and OEMs to specify and qualify electrical equipment.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical issues.
• Lead R&D including liquid cooling integration and advanced monitoring technologies.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and white papers.
• Act as a subject matter expert across regions and lead technical forums.
• Champion health, safety, environmental, information security, and regulatory compliance standards.
• (Optional) Lead and mentor a small team of electrical design engineers.
