Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer in Singapore to join the Platform Engineering team. You will partner with the US team to drive production deployments and evolve the deployment platform, blending hands‑on delivery with technical leadership in a hybrid Singapore environment.

You’ll design automated deployment solutions, modernize CI/CD processes, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Architecture, Security, and Product teams to deliver secure, scalable software delivery platforms.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in DevOps or related fields.
• Proven experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Strong track record automating production deployments in cloud environments.
• Extensive experience building enterprise CI/CD pipelines with CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Experience managing artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory.

About the Role

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in NinjaOne's global Platform Engineering organization, partnering closely with our US-based Platform Engineering team to support production software deployments and drive the evolution of our deployment platform.

This role has two primary areas of responsibility:

• Production Deployment Engineering– sharing ownership of production deployments and release operations across our SaaS platform to ensure reliable, predictable, and high-quality software releases.
• Deployment Automation & Platform Engineering– designing and implementing automated deployment solutions that eliminate manual processes, improve developer productivity, and enable engineering teams to deliver software faster and more safely.

As part of our growing Singapore engineering team, you'll help provide expanded operational coverage for global production deployments while creating additional capacity for the broader Platform Engineering organization to focus on strategic initiatives and platform modernization.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role. You'll collaborate closely with Software Engineering, SRE, QA, Product Management, Release Management, and Security teams to build scalable, secure, and highly automated software delivery platforms.

What You’ll be Doing

Production Deployment & Release Engineering

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of software deployments into production environments, ensuring high availability, minimal downtime, and predictable releases.
• Share ownership of production deployment operations with the US Platform Engineering team, providing global coverage and operational continuity across production environments.
• Partner with Engineering, SRE, QA, Release Managers, and Product teams to plan, coordinate, and execute production software releases, maintenance windows, and emergency deployments while ensuring deployment readiness, operational stability, and clear stakeholder communication.
• Develop and maintain deployment standards, release readiness processes, rollback procedures, and operational playbooks.
• Lead post‑release reviews and drive continuous improvements that increase deployment reliability and reduce operational risk.
• Serve as the technical escalation point during complex production deployments and critical release activities.

Deployment Engineering & Automation

• Design and implement automated deployment solutions that improve software delivery speed, consistency, and reliability.
• Build reusable deployment frameworks, standardized deployment workflows, and self‑service deployment capabilities.
• Lead CI/CD modernization initiatives using CircleCI and related technologies.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate repetitive operational work through automation and engineering solutions.
• Improve deployment frequency, release quality, and engineering efficiency through continuous process improvements.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps engineers and software engineering teams.
• Drive engineering best practices, deployment standards, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, and Platform leadership on strategic platform initiatives.
• Communicate project status, technical risks, and delivery milestones to stakeholders and leadership.

About You

• 7–10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Build & Release Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Strong experience supporting and automating production software deployments in cloud environments.
• Deep expertise building enterprise‑scale CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Experience managing artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory.
• Experience designing deployment automation, release orchestration, and software delivery workflows.
• Strong understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, pull request processes, and release management.
• Strong scripting or programming experience using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Good-to-have:

• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud‑native architectures.
• Experience integrating DevSecOps capabilities including SAST, SCA, DAST, SBOM generation, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
• Experience improving engineering productivity and DORA metrics.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
