Job summary

re-zoo-me is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of robust data platforms across Teradata, Hadoop/Cloudera, and cloud environments. You will architect scalable pipelines while mentoring the team and driving technical excellence.

You will partner with architects, product teams, DevOps, and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, governance, and production readiness in a regulated banking setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of data-engineering experience with technical leadership in Teradata and Hadoop/big-data delivery.
• Teradata, Cloudera, Databricks, Cloud Data Engineering, or Terraform certifications preferred.
• Core technologies include Teradata, Hadoop/Cloudera, Spark, Hive, Impala, HBase, SQL, Python, Scala/Java, Kafka, Airflow, and Denodo.
• Infrastructure & DevOps: Terraform, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Git, and CI/CD automation tools.
• Domain expertise covers enterprise banking data (Customer, Payments, Risk, Finance, AML, Regulatory Reporting) with focus on data quality, lineage, and historical reconstruction.
• Core competencies include leadership, disciplined delivery in regulated settings, strong communication, and production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable batch, streaming, and API-based data pipelines, historical-data processing, SCD/CDC mechanisms, and semantic-layer data products.
• Optimize complex SQL queries, Spark workloads, partition strategies, and storage frameworks for large-volume processing in regulated banking environments.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and establish automated CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments, and robust testing standards.
• Drive code reviews, enforce engineering standards, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with architects, product teams, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
