Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Agentic AI Engineer to design, build, and operate agentic AI platforms and services. You will lead cross-functional teams across AI, data science, platform engineering, and security to deploy scalable AI-powered applications enterprise-wide.

The role emphasizes architecture, governance, observability, and runtime execution with a strong focus on cloud-native, API-first platforms and multi-agent coordination patterns.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with AI/ML-powered apps
• Production-grade AI systems at enterprise scale
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and reliability
• Hands-on with agentic workflows/orchestration frameworks
• Proficient in Python and cloud-native development
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks and orchestration tech like LangGraph/LangChain
• Experience building APIs, backend services, and event-driven systems
• Familiarity with AWS, Databricks, Kubernetes

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end platform development for agentic AI platforms and services
• Design and develop agentic systems and orchestration frameworks
• Build scalable platform components for AI app development and governance
• Develop robust backend services, APIs, and event-driven architectures
• Design API-first capabilities, SDKs, and reusable frameworks
• Improve scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency of AI platforms
• Provide technical leadership through reviews, mentoring, and best practices
• Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, product managers, and security teams
• Partner on governance, risk, and responsible AI practices
• Drive continuous improvement in agentic AI capabilities
