The Lead, Academic is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and continuous improvement of postgraduate (PG) academic programmes. The role supports the university’s mission to provide high-quality, research-driven education by managing academic processes, coordinating curriculum development, and driving innovation in programme administration. Acting as a bridge between academic leadership, faculty, and administrative systems, the jobholder ensures excellence, compliance, and responsiveness to evolving academic needs.
Oversee PhD-specific academic processes: Qualifying Examinations (QE), thesis, reviewer coordination.
Coordinate QE logistics, reports, and reviewer assignments.
Attend to academic matters for PhD programme partnerships and joint PhDs.
Oversee research exchange programmes (e.g., China Scholarship Council (CSC), non-degree).
Oversee PhD Admissions and Scholarships.
Support academic matters for joint PhD programmes and institutional partnerships.
Oversee research exchange programmes (e.g., CSC, non-degree), ensuring smooth processing and tracking.
Provide teaching support insights and coordinate faculty engagement initiatives.
Post Work Study Scheme (WSS) assignments as requested by professors and GS Office and assign shortlisted students.
Check on prepared billing for MSc students for each Semester.
Follow up on Monthly Aging Report for MSc students with outstanding tuition fees.
Oversee fee waiver appeals process.
Process WSS students’ claim submission.
Data-driven Planning and Process Improvement Manage Data analysis of postgraduate student demographics for Graduate Intake and Enrolment Planning (GIEP) projections.
Improve workflows and implement policies for process automation and digitalization of administrative workflows to improve efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in student services.
Strong background in academic administration, curriculum development, or programme management.
Familiarity with postgraduate education frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Student services, with 2 years of supervisory experience.
