Job summary

DSO National Laboratories in Singapore seeks a Material/Mechanical Engineer to perform multi-physics studies on laser-thermal-material interaction and to develop modelling and simulation (M&S) tools using COMSOL and MATLAB. You will design experiments, analyze data, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to refine insights and deliver robust results.

Qualifications

PhD / Masters / Bachelor’s in Material Science / Mechanical Engineering / Physics or a related field.
Passion for R&D and problem solving.
Enjoys working as a team to plan and conduct experiments.
Experience with M&S tools such as COMSOL and/or MATLAB is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform Multi-Physics Study on Laser-Thermal-Material Interaction effects.
Develop Modelling and Simulation (M&S) models using software tools such as COMSOL.
Design and conduct experiments to validate and refine M&S.
Perform sensitivity analysis with varying Laser and Material parameters.
Evaluate trade-offs in modelling approach and assumptions between simulation fidelity and computation speed.
Work with a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate simulation findings.
