Job summary

DSO National Laboratories is seeking an Electromagnetics R&D Engineer in Singapore. You will design high-performance electromagnetic materials, work in a fast-moving team and push the pipeline from design to product using data-driven testing.

You will leverage modelling tools across multiphysics domains, explore AI models, and contribute to an integrated experimental and analytical loop to accelerate development of EM materials and applications.

Qualifications

• PhD/Masters/Bachelor’s in Materials Science or related engineering fields.
• Background in Materials Science/Mechanical Engineering/Electromagnetics/ Computation.
• Proficiency in computation, modelling and coding.
• Experience with Multiphysics modelling or materials modelling involving microstructure.
• Experience with AI models and developments, such as generative and agentic related work is favourable.
• Self-driven, high adaptability.
• Good team player in a diverse technical team.
• Excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Be involved in cutting edge R&D into Design of Materials and Concepts for high performance electromagnetic applications.
• Be part of a fast-moving team building up an accelerated design to product pipeline with data driven testing.
• Utilise modelling tools and Multiphysics frameworks to accelerate development, including CALPHAD approaches and AI models.
• Contribute to an integrated experimentation and analysis process to create a data-driven pipeline for EM materials development.

Electromagnetics R&D Engineer

In this role, you will:

• Be involved in cutting edge R&D into Design of Materials and Concepts for high performance electromagnetic (EM) applications
• Be part of a fast-moving team building up an accelerated design to product pipeline pursuing a data driven and high throughput testing approach
• Utilise a range of modelling tools, covering multi-scale M&S tools ranging from (phase field, continuum, computational thermodynamic tools such as CALPHAD, other Multiphysics tools) and exploring AI models and techniques to accelerate their development
• Be part of the integrated experimentation and analysis team so as to build a closed loop data-driven approach towards materials development for EM applications
