Job summary

MKS Inc. in Singapore is seeking an exceptional Laser Production Technician to manufacture and test lasers, sub-assemblies and components against documented specifications.

You will handle fibers, perform splicing and routing, align subsystems with precision instruments, and troubleshoot optical, mechanical and electrical assemblies. This role requires hands-on technical competence and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum ITE or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical) or equivalent.
• At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Technical competence in optical, mechanical or electrical assembly.
• Ability to assemble mechanical, electrical and optical subsystems.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Experience in troubleshooting technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and test of lasers, laser sub-assemblies and laser components against documented specifications.
• Perform Fiber handling, splicing, routing, pig-tailing, operating laser diodes.
• Troubleshoot fiber based assemblies and laser diode issues.
• Perform fiber based assembly and optical alignment to specification.
• Incorporate optical, mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies into systems unit with test.
• Install and align optical, mechanical and optical sub-assemblies into systems using precision instruments.
