Job summary

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Laboratory Executive (Assistant Manager / Manager) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. You will support laboratory procurement, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure safety and compliance across the lab.

As the main admin contact, you will manage purchasing, inventory, and coordination with the PI, vendors, and internal teams while maintaining records and reporting on grant finances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; strong admin & lab-management experience also considered.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of basic lab safety; prior safety or lab-management experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable with vendors and collaborators.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with SAP, Concur, or Power BI is advantageous.
• Some proficiency with AI to aid administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory operations and internal coordination.
• Maintain daily lab order, cleanliness, and shared workspaces.
• Support communications across stakeholders.
• Enforce lab rules, SOPs, and good research practices.
• Maintain equipment inventory.
• Ensure safety and compliance with guidelines.
• Handle grant finance, claims, and budget monitoring.
• Lead procurement from request to PO and closure.
• Coordinate with HR for recruitment and onboarding.
