Designing the future. Transforming the world. Wood has an opportunity for a Laboratory Analytical Support Officer to join our growing operations in Singapore.
The Role
This position will be responsible for ensuring the analytical equipment and computer systems in the quality laboratories are installed, validated, calibrated and maintained according to relevant quality standards and procedures. The equipment and computer systems-related procedures will be created and updated according to QMS standards and guidelines, and static data configuration for laboratory-related systems will be managed in a timely manner to meet regulatory requirements. The role also involves providing laboratory infrastructural support to ensure all process raw materials, intermediates and final products are properly analyzed and the analytical tests are performed in full compliance with cGMP, regulatory and safety requirements.

Responsibilities
- Ensure analytical equipment is maintained and calibrated accurately and timely in accordance with site procedures, ATS and regulatory requirements
- Lead and/or participate in investigations arising from laboratory equipment/computer systems events and propose effective CAPA to minimize reoccurrence
- Perform periodic validation review of systems/laboratory equipment to ensure validation status is maintained and recommend re-validation as required
- Lead or participate in laboratory equipment validation in accordance with site procedures and regulatory requirements, including writing, reviewing and approval of validation documentation
- Maintain and support computer systems and laboratory equipment according to site change control and access control procedures
- Perform accurate and thorough impact assessment on laboratory equipment, systems change control to ensure all impacted areas are adequately assessed and impacted documentation is updated in a timely manner
- Revise, review and maintain laboratory procedures, instructions, methods to ensure compliance with regulatory, QMS, ATS and pharmacopoeia
- Ensure a safe working environment in the laboratory and perform HSE inspections
- Supervise, develop and motivate team members and other assigned staff to help realise their maximum potential and contribute to department objectives
- Conduct effective training for laboratory staff on computer systems/equipment and relevant procedures
- Ensure regulatory compliance, perform Management Monitoring audits and support Independent Business Monitoring/regulatory audits
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of Pharmacopoeia & ATS review
- Manage inventory for laboratory chemicals, instrument spares and accessories (e.g. columns, consumables) within the budget set by Alab; manage the lab inventory Kanban system and ensure all materials are included in the Kanban system
- Hold required statutory licence(s) for laboratory chemicals and ensure statutory requirements are complied with
- Oversee the management of poison and explosives precursors chemicals/reagents used in Alab
- Manage the retained sample visual inspection and disposal program
Working Relationships
- Proposals & Recommendations
- Decisions/Recommendations on the findings of laboratory equipment/computer systems deviations
- Recommendations on new/replacement instrumentation/technologies
- Recommendations on the adoption of new/revised procedures, methods, specifications
- Resource requirement projections for the Analytical systems support activities
- Able to make recommendations on ways of conducting training on computer systems/equipment
Qualifications
- Science degree holder with experience in the field of Chemical, Pharma or Manufacturing industry
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Relevant experience in Life Science, Pharmaceutical, Clean Room or associated industry (preferred)
- Knowledge of GxP and laboratory equipment/validation
- Knowledge of quality control and laboratory environment
- High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
- People management skills
