Job summary

JMS SINGAPORE PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor/Manager to lead Lab Analysts, Chemists, and Microbiologists in analytical testing for quality control in our manufacturing setting.

You will ensure data review accuracy, uphold EN ISO 13485, cGMP, GDP, and drive continuous improvement while managing daily operations and training staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of technical experience in a QA/QC laboratory in medical device, pharmaceutical, food, chemical or process industries.
• Experience in supervising a team of laboratory technicians/analysts/chemists/microbiologists is advantageous.
• Experience operating LIMS is advantageous.
• Willing to travel within the Asia-Pacific region when necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide Lab Analysts, Chemists, and Microbiologists in analytical testing activities.
• Review testing data for accuracy and safety to support manufacturing operations.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supervise laboratory personnel and troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Review test results for raw materials and finished products, monitor trends, and identify issues early.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) projects and associated activities.
• Plan and schedule laboratory manpower to meet operational requirements.
• Develop, review, and approve laboratory procedures and work instructions.
• Train personnel on equipment operation, testing methods, and lab controls.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide Lab Analysts, Chemists, and Microbiologists in analytical testing activities.
• Ensure testing data is reviewed accurately and safely to support manufacturing operations according to established procedures.
• Maintain compliance with EN ISO 13485, cGMP, JQMS, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Oversee daily laboratory operations, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supervise laboratory analysts and technicians, including equipment troubleshooting, failure investigation, and corrective actions.
• Review test results for raw materials and finished products, and monitor trends to identify potential issues early.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions using a risk-based approach.
• Monitor laboratory inventory to ensure adequate stocks of consumables, chemicals, and supplies.
• Plan and schedule laboratory manpower to meet operational requirements.
• Develop, review, and approve laboratory procedures and work instructions.
• Train laboratory personnel on equipment operation, testing methods, and laboratory controls.
• Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives within the laboratory.
• Coordinate and manage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) projects.
• Provide coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of technical experience in Quality Control laboratory within the medical device, pharmaceutical, food, chemical or process industries.
• Experience in managing/supervising a team of laboratory Technician, Analyst, Chemist and Microbiologist will be advantage.
• Experience in operating LIMS (Lab information Management System) will be advantage.
• Willing to travel within the Asia-Pacific region when necessary.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
