Job summary

Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Centre for Environmental Sustainability (CfES) seeks a hands-on Technical Executive to support laboratory operations, materials processing, equipment management, procurement and project administration within the Materials Technology team.

This 2-year contract role focuses on day-to-day lab and workshop support, safety and documentation, and collaboration with engineers and industry partners to deliver projects efficiently.

Qualifications

• Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Materials Technology, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on technical aptitude and interest in laboratory, manufacturing or process operations.
• Strong organisational, detail‑oriented, and good communication/coordination skills.
• Experience in laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, procurement or project administration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support industry projects and technical consultancy through lab, workshop and testing activities.
• Operate and maintain laboratory and process equipment used for materials processing and testing.
• Prepare samples, perform processing, testing and data collection.
• Manage laboratory resources, inventory, consumables and chemicals.
• Support procurement, vendor coordination and project administration.
• Maintain laboratory safety and documentation per procedures.
• Work with engineers and partners to support project delivery and operational excellence.
