Job summary

Overview

Lab Equipment Technician in the semiconductor industry. Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of laboratory equipment to support advanced wafer manufacturing and quality testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Conduct equipment calibration, qualification, and performance verification.
• Monitor laboratory equipment performance and ensure operational reliability.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and validation of new laboratory instruments.
• Coordinate with vendors for servicing, repairs, and technical support.
• Maintain maintenance records, calibration reports, and equipment documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, cleanroom protocols, and quality standards.
• Work closely with laboratory users, engineers, and cross-functional teams to resolve equipment-related issues.

Laboratory Equipment Exposure

• Experience with any of the following equipment will be an advantage: Optical Microscopes, SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), FTIR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Raman Spectrometer, Particle Size Analyzer, Surface Profilometer, Thickness Measurement Systems, Chemical Analysis Equipment, Vacuum Systems, Pumps & Compressors, Cleanroom Laboratory Equipment, Wafer Inspection Equipment, Metrology Equipment, Analytical Instruments, Environmental Chambers, Precision Measurement Equipment

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma / NITEC / Higher NITEC in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Instrumentation, Applied Science, or related disciplines.
• Experience in laboratory equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or calibration is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in semiconductor, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, electronics, or manufacturing is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
