UNITED WORLD COLLEGE OF SOUTH EAST ASIA (UWCSEA) Dover Campus is recruiting a Teacher of Junior School for August 2027 (G2 to G5, ages 7-11). The role focuses on creating a joyful, safe learning environment while planning and assessing engaging experiences that support each child’s development.

You will reflect on practice, engage in professional growth, and collaborate with a team to deliver high-quality instruction aligned with UWCSEA standards and community values.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Primary Education from an accredited institution and a recognized teaching qualification or certification are essential.
  • Minimum 3 years' teaching experience preferred (7 to 11 year-olds)
  • Bi/multilingual, Experience in an international setting, Experience teaching and advocating for English Language Learners, Experience teaching and advocating for neurodiverse students

  • Provide a happy, stimulating, safe learning environment for all children and bring energy, joy and fun to the classroom.
  • Plan, teach and assess through engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote each child's development.
  • Reflect on teaching practice and commit to ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Communicate clearly with parents about teaching, learning and wellbeing for the children.
  • Build positive and effective relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with classroom teaching assistants to support student growth and share resources.
  • Design lessons within a team and share resources for excellence.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the five elements of the UWCSEA programme and to the wider community.
  • Assist with any other duties as reasonably requested by the Principal.

UWCSEA has a vacancy for August 2027 at its Dover Campus for a Teacher of Junior School (G2 to G5, Ages 7-11 years).

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide a happy, stimulating, safe learning environment for all children and bring a sense of energy, joy and fun to the classroom.
  • To plan, teach and assess through engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote the development of each child.
  • To reflect continually on your craft as a teacher and commit to personal and professional development and growth.
  • To communicate clearly with parents about teaching, learning and wellbeing related to the children in their care.
  • To build positive and effective relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Work closely with classroom teaching assistants, collaborating, developing practice and creating systems that allow for student growth
  • To collaborate within a team, designing lessons and sharing resources to ensure excellence for all.
  • To show a commitment to the 5 elements of the UWCSEA programme and to the wider community.
  • Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs as may be reasonably requested by the Principal.

Person Specifications
  • A degree in Primary Education from an accredited institution and a recognized teaching qualification or certification are essential.

  • A committed and creative practitioner, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to educating the whole child.
  • Comfort with working in a school which permits a high degree of autonomy
  • Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, enthusiastic participation in Professional Learning is expected. Evidence of regular and recent professional learning.
  • Willing and eager to participate in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics; Activities; Outdoor Education; Personal and Social Education; and Service.
  • The College expects a significant weekly contribution to Activities and/or Service.
  • The College expects that teachers will participate enthusiastically in the curricular Outdoor Education experiences that are relevant to their students and will also occasionally volunteer for holiday Outdoor Education trips.
