Job summary

PERSOL is seeking a Junior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our public healthcare client in Singapore. The role involves performing lab operations, phlebotomy, ECG, spirometry, and a range of clinical tests, while ensuring proper specimen handling and documentation.

You will operate and maintain lab equipment, use LIS for data entry, conduct quality control, and report results with accuracy. Training is provided, with a 5.5-day workweek and an annual performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Biomedical Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• 1–2 years of lab experience with phlebotomy preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and data entry.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab operations following SOPs.
• Conduct phlebotomy, ECG, spirometry, and various clinical tests.
• Ensure correct handling, storage and labeling of specimens.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment; report malfunctions.
• Use LIS for data entry and tracking results.
• Perform quality control and troubleshooting for equipment and tests.
• Report critical values promptly and document records.
• Adhere to IPSG/ISO safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide excellent service to patients and doctors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform lab operations following standard procedures (SOPs).


• Conduct phlebotomy, ECG, spirometry, and various clinical lab tests (e.g., blood, urine, glucose tests).


• Ensure proper handling, identification, and storage of test specimens.


• Operate and maintain lab equipment; report malfunctions or arrange servicing.


• Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for data entry and tracking results.


• Perform quality control, calibrations, and troubleshooting for equipment and test results.


• Report critical values promptly and maintain accurate records.


• Follow safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards (e.g., IPSG, ISO).


• Provide excellent customer service to patients, doctors, and colleagues.


• Assist with other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Biomedical Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.


• 1-2 years of relevant experience in lab setting with phlebotomy skills is preferred.


• Proficient in computer skills.
