Job summary

Hudson River Trading seeks a Junior Electronic Trading Support Engineer to join our Global Trade Operations team in Singapore. You will be part of a tight-knit group responsible for maintaining the live trading environment, monitoring systems, debugging issues, and helping automate tasks to keep markets open smoothly.

You will work across infrastructure, risk, and regulatory tasks, interfacing with exchanges and trading desks, and you will be the first line of defense when incidents occur.

Qualifications

• UNIX systems knowledge is required.
• Experience with Python, Perl or Bash scripting.
• Excellent communication skills and client interfacing.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Understanding of Market Data/Order Entry systems or interest in electronic markets.
• Industry experience and/or Series 7 or 57 certification is preferred but not required.
• Recent graduates with relevant knowledge will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support live trading during APAC market hours.
• Work Sunday to Thursday as part of the schedule.
• Respond to external market alerts and outages promptly.
• Serve as first line of defense for the trading system during incidents.
• Interface with exchanges and external parties to support trading.

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Junior Electronic Trading Support Engineer to join our Global Trade Operations (TradeOps) team in Singapore. This team manages HRT’s live trading environment, one of the most robust and efficient electronic trading platforms in the world. This includes configuring, monitoring, and optimizing the firm’s trading while handling risk, regulatory, and development tasks. The TradeOps team focuses on both automating common tasks and preparing for the unexpected. Your day could consist of debugging to get a process running in time for the market open, making a difficult on-the-spot decision that balances compliance, risk, and PnL during trading hours, or coordinating the technical rollout of a new trading strategy.

Role

In a high-performance environment, immediate awareness and reaction to systems and trading issues is essential. That’s where HRT’s Electronic Trading Support Engineers come in, you’ll manage new initiatives and ensure a smooth trading day. You’ll act as the first line of defense when the inevitable happens, and the subject matter expert on recent changes to the production trading platform. The team’s scope covers everything from systems infrastructure to compliance, risk management, overnight clearing, and performance improvement.

• Experience with a scripting language (Python, Perl, Bash)

• Incredibly organized, with a high attention to detail
• Excited to work independently in a very fast-paced, high pressure environment
• Possess an understanding of Market Data/Order Entry systems and/or an interest in how modern electronic markets work
• Industry experience and/or Series 7 or 57 certification is preferred if applicable, but not required
• Exceptional recent/fresh graduates with relevant knowledge can be considered
