Merry Delights PTE Ltd in Singapore is seeking a skilled Commis Cook to join our kitchen team in the Pasir Ris East region. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment, working alongside experienced chefs to prepare and plate quality dishes.

You will learn under supervision, maintain hygiene standards, handle kitchen tools safely and contribute to efficient operations while fostering a collaborative atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and kitchen protocols.
• Excellent knife skills and familiarity with basic cooking techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards.
• A positive attitude, strong teamwork skills and willingness to learn from more experienced chefs.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle the demands of a busy kitchen.
• Good time management and organisational abilities.
• Knowledge of local and international cuisines is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparing vegetables, proteins and other ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards
• Assisting in the cooking and plating of dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the kitchen, including workstations and equipment
• Following food safety protocols and handling procedures at all times
• Supporting the kitchen team with preparatory tasks
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Assisting with stock management and reporting on ingredient usage
• Contributing to a collaborative and positive kitchen atmosphere
