Job summary

Beyondsoft Singapore is seeking a Junior Data Engineer (AWS Architect) to support the design and deployment of a scalable data lake/lakehouse. You will implement ingestion pipelines, manage Glue data catalog and catalogs, and help enforce data security and governance in a government data environment.

You will work with AWS services like S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Kinesis, and Lake Formation, plus tools such as Tableau and SageMaker for analytics and MLOps.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in data engineering, data architecture, or cloud infrastructure.
• Hands on experience with core AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Kinesis, Step Functions, Lake Formation).
• Strong SQL and at least one scripting language (Python or Scala).
• Experience with Data Lake or Lakehouse architectures.
• AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate or Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
• Experience with Tableau, SageMaker, Salesforce integration via AppFlow, or CDC patterns.
• Prior experience in a government or public sector data environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of the AWS Data Lake and Lakehouse solution across Landing, Transformed, and Curated zones.
• Help apply data architecture standards and build reusable ingestion pipelines.
• Build data ingestion and transformation pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and Redshift.
• Help maintain the AWS Glue Data Catalogue, including schema and metadata tracking.
• Help configure data security using AWS Lake Formation, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
• Support compliance with data classification, retention, and audit requirements.
• Monitor platform health and pipeline reliability, and troubleshoot data issues.
