We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Finance team in Singapore. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily inventory and cash operations, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing cycles.
This position is ideal for entry-level candidates or fresh graduates who possess a solid grounding in financial accounting principles, high accuracy, and an eagerness to develop within a fast-paced, regional operational environment.
Transactional & Day-to-Day Operations
Prepare and post journal entries and inventory adjustments to the General Ledger (GL).
Maintain complete supporting documentation for all accounting entries and transactions.
Process and code daily Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
Issue customer tax invoices and credit notes, tracking payments and following up on overdue balances.
Review, verify, and process employee expense claims in accordance with internal corporate policies.
Monitor, record, and reconcile daily collections, bank transfers (FAST/GIRO/TT), and cheque deposits.
Liaise with clients on billing discrepancies, credit terms, short payments, and return adjustments to facilitate timely collections.
Coordinate with internal sales and operations teams to resolve commercial disputes and mitigate aging debt.
Account Reconciliation & Ledger Maintenance
Perform regular bank, corporate credit card, and petty cash reconciliations.
Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and sub-ledger reconciliations.
Investigate and rectify ledger variances, unallocated receipts, or unusual transaction entries.
Maintain the fixed asset register, verifying asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposal schedules.
Financial Reporting & Management Support
Assist with the month-end and financial year-end closing processes.
Compile and format schedules to support the preparation of Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.
Prepare basic budget-versus-actual variance analyses and highlight key discrepancies.
Assist in preparing working papers for local statutory filings, including quarterly GST returns.
Ensure all accounting documentation is systematically archived and digitalised to meet statutory retention requirements.
Audit, Governance & Statutory Compliance
Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external/internal auditors during annual statutory audits.
Assist in maintaining internal financial controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Support general compliance with ACRA, IRAS, and internal group governance guidelines.
Undertake ad-hoc finance assignments as directed by the Finance Manager / Head of Department.
Education: Degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications (such as pursuing ISCA, ACCA, or equivalent certifications) will be advantageous.
Experience: Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; candidates with relevant internship experience or up to 1 year of hands-on accounting experience are preferred.
Accounting Standards: Familiarity with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS / SFRS for Small Entities) or IFRS.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).
Prior exposure to ERP or cloud accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or Xero) is an asset.
Functional Competencies:
Basic knowledge of multi-currency transactions, trade collections, and local GST treatment.
Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and analytical skills.
Work Style:
Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and across cross-functional teams in a deadline-driven environment.
Professional communication skills (written and spoken English) to coordinate with local and overseas counterparts across varying time zones.
