Job summary

Ethos BeathChapman is representing a leading consultancy searching for a Java Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract in Singapore. This role demands hands-on experience across the full software lifecycle and at least five years in Java software development.

You will work with Core Java, Spring Boot, JUnit, EJB, REST/SOAP, JMS/MQ and Agile practices to deliver enterprise-grade applications with performance optimization and robust testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java software engineering with end-to-end development.
• Strong Core Java, JUnit, EJB and Spring Boot for enterprise apps.
• CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, OO design.
• Relational databases, SQL optimization and performance tuning.
• REST/SOAP, JMS/MQ, and Spring core concepts.
• Experience in Agile environments with TDD and acceptance testing.

Job description

Our client is a leading consultancy supporting a public sector project, and we are looking for a Java Engineer to join them. This will be a 12-month contract.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Java software engineering with end-to-end application development and delivery.


• Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java, JUnit, EJB and Spring Boot for enterprise application development.


• Solid foundation in computer science principles including algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design.


• Proven experience with relational databases, SQL optimization, and performance tuning.


• Proficiency in REST/SOAP web services, Java messaging technologies (JMS/MQ), and Spring core concepts.


• Experience working in Agile environments with strong testing practices, including TDD and acceptance test development
