Job summary

RAPSYS TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Java/DevOps-focused developer to guide architecture, design, and implementation across enterprise applications. You will contribute to both on-premises and cloud deployments, while leveraging AI-assisted tooling to improve code quality and testing.

The role requires proficiency in Java, Spring, REST API, UNIX scripting, IBM WAS/JBoss, and a strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines. Cloud certifications and HA/Performance experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring and REST API development.
• Proficient in UNIX scripting and IBM WebSphere/JBoss environments.
• Familiar with DevOps CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, CloudBees).
• Certifications in Java SE and Spring are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as domain knowledge custodian for existing applications and guide architecture decisions.
• Design and develop software using waterfall/Agile methodologies.
• Investigate and troubleshoot by writing scripts and SQL queries.
• Collaborate with BAs and QEs for requirements and test automation.
• Provide effort estimates for stories and tasks.
• Support CI/CD setup and release automation with DevOps teams.
• Create functional specs and system design documents.
• Convert acceptance criteria into automated tests and test docs.
• Assist production support and BAU activities.
• Deploy applications to cloud or on-premises and ensure HA/Performance.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the domain knowledge custodian for existing applications, providing technical guidance and context to the team on system architecture, business logic, and historical design decisions.

Solution the design and develop the software using waterfall/Agile methodology.

Perform investigation, troubleshoot issues by developing scripts, SQL queries.

Work closely and collaborate with the Business Analysts and Quality Engineers/application testers for requirement analysis and user stories elaboration, test automation, bug fixes etc.

Provide estimates for stories or other work units.

Work with deployment team/DevOps team on setting up continuous integration, build and release automation.

Create functional specifications and system design documents.

Convert acceptance criteria into automated unit tests cases and create other test documents.

Support production issues and other BAU activities.

Support application setup in Cloud or on-premises.

Involve in application deployment to the various environments. Technical expertise in Java/JEE Framework, JScript and UNIX.

Use AI coding tools (e.g. Copilot, Coder) to support development tasks such as coding, testing, and defect fixing.

Apply automation to improve development workflows. This includes build, test, and deployment activities.

Leverage AI assistance to improve code quality. This covers refactoring, defect resolution, and documentation.

Demonstrate willingness to adopt new AI and automation tools where relevant to work outcomes.

What We Are Looking For

Demonstrable skills in Java, Spring, REST API, UNIX Scripting, IBM WAS, JBoss, DevOps CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, Git, CloudBees).

Relevant software development certifications e.g. Java SE, Spring professional certification or equivalent.

Hands-on experience on ORACLE, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL databases

Cloud certifications in AWS/Azure/Google Cloud will be an added advantage.

Good understanding and completion of projects using waterfall/Agile methodology.

Ability to troubleshoot complex issues ranging from system resource to application stack traces.

Track record in implementing systems with high availability, high performance, high security hosted at various data centers or hybrid cloud environments will be an advantage.

AI and automation scope past experience will be an advantage.
