Job summary

USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHERS PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our development team in Singapore.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and cloud-based application development. You will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise applications while supporting cloud migration initiatives and microservices deployment on Microsoft Azure.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and RESTful API development.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, including service-to-service communication.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployment.
• Experience in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated deployment processes.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with complex enterprise applications and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Develop, enhance, and optimize microservices-based applications to support enterprise business requirements.
• Refactor legacy applications and remove outdated dependencies to improve performance and cloud compatibility.
• Support migration and integration of applications into Microsoft Azure environments.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS or equivalent).
• Develop and maintain service integrations, including Apache Dubbo or similar RPC frameworks.
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to support CI/CD pipelines and deployment.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across SIT, UAT, and production environments.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, performance optimization, and technical documentation.
• Work with technical leads, business analysts, and QA teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

Core Technical Skills (Must-Have)

• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application deployment.
• Experience developing, deploying, or supporting applications in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated deployment processes.

Microservices & System Integration

• Good understanding of service discovery, configuration management, and inter‑service communication.
• Experience integrating backend services using REST APIs, RPC frameworks, or messaging systems.
• Understanding of microservices performance, reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Ability to analyze existing application dependencies and support modernization or cloud migration activities.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Experience with Apache Dubbo or Alibaba Dubbo for distributed service integration.
• Familiarity with Alibaba Cloud services such as EDAS, ACK, or MSE.
• Knowledge of Nacos for service discovery and configuration management.
• Experience migrating enterprise applications from Alibaba Cloud to Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Spring Security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
