NTT Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Java Backend Engineer to work with business users and product owners, translating requirements into practical technical solutions.

The role balances development with stakeholder management and requires ownership of technical delivery. You will develop Java/Spring Boot backends, design REST APIs, perform data analysis with SQL and support deployments while collaborating with multiple technology teams.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant software-development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java, Spring and Spring Boot development experience.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, data analysis and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git/Bitbucket, Jira and Agile delivery.
• Strong production support, debugging and root-cause analysis experience.
• Proven experience engaging directly with business users or product owners.
• Ability to independently clarify requirements and propose technical solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathetic, composed and solution-oriented when handling concerned or frustrated stakeholders.
• Strong ownership, accountability and ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Develop, enhance and support Java/Spring Boot backend applications and REST APIs.
• Engage directly with business users and product owners to understand requirements, concerns and operational challenges.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical solutions and implementation plans.
• Facilitate discussions, clarify ambiguities and manage stakeholder expectations throughout delivery.
• Investigate application and data issues using complex SQL queries, logs and system analysis.
• Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, defect resolution and production support.
• Support SIT, UAT, deployments and post-release stabilisation.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, QA, application support and other technology teams.
• Communicate delivery progress, risks, dependencies and technical constraints clearly.
• Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.
