Job summary

EPAM Systems Singapore is seeking a Java Backend Developer (Kafka) to design and run cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure, build resilient microservices and implement event-driven integrations with Kafka. You will optimize PostgreSQL data access and collaborate with product and engineering teams to ship reliable features.

You'll contribute to building secure RESTful APIs, participate in code reviews, and help monitor production workloads on leading cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java with hands-on backend experience
• Experience designing microservices with observability and resilience patterns
• Strong RESTful API design and integration experience

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain back-end services using Java, Kafka and microservices
• Develop RESTful APIs with security and scalability
• Implement event streaming and messaging patterns with Apache Kafka
• Deploy and monitor cloud-native workloads on Azure and AWS
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features end to end
• Participate in code reviews, testing and release activities
• Troubleshoot production issues and maintain clear technical documentation
