Job summary

5G-Starlink Pte. in Singapore seeks an experienced Unix system administrator to provide Level-2 support for software and hardware issues, manage and monitor systems, and install Unix systems on services and devices.

You will implement system policies, apply patches, and work with the team to ensure high availability; on-call standby and hands-on troubleshooting are part of the role. Strong scripting in Shell and PowerShell, plus SQL skills, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
• Strong SQL and SQL Server tools proficiency.
• Relational and dimensional data modelling understanding.
• PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills.
• On-call availability as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide Level-2 support for software and hardware issues;
• Manage and monitor systems and infrastructure;
• Install and upgrade Unix systems on services and devices;
• Implement system policies including recovery and security policies;
• Apply patches and upgrades to systems as necessary;
• Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that systems meet high levels of availability;
• Be on standby for urgent matters and perform hands-on troubleshooting as required.

Strong familiarity with Unix systems, with hands-on experience in Unix commands;

• Exposure to Solaris and IBM AIX would be an advantage;
• Understanding of network principles would be beneficial;
• Proficiency in Shell script;
• Analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision;
