Job summary

EQCOMS Technology PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure for client SI projects and the company's internal environment.

The role focuses on systems and compute infrastructure—working alongside the Network Engineer to deliver integrated solutions while engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining server/storage/virtualization infrastructures.
• Hands-on with Dell/HPE hardware and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper‑V).
• Strong collaboration with Network Engineer and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and configure servers (physical and virtual) for client projects — Dell, HPE, and equivalent hardware.
• Deploy and manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V) and storage systems.
• Set up Active Directory, Windows/Linux server environments, and cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Test DR procedures for client/internal environments.
• Apply patch management and vulnerability remediation; support ISO 27001, SOC 2 compliance.
• Monitor performance and capacity; provide Tier 2/3 escalation support and on‑call rotation.
• Coordinate with Network Engineer for end‑to‑end delivery; generate technical reports.

Job description

Reporting to the IT Manager, we are seeking an experienced and highly skilled System Engineer. The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure for client SI projects and the company's internal environment. This role focuses on systems and compute infrastructure — working alongside the Network Engineer, who handles networking and connectivity Individual should be a good team player and is able to engage and interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Systems Design and Deployment

• Design, install, and configure servers (physical and virtual) for client projects — Dell, HPE, and equivalent hardware
• Deploy and manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V) and storage systems
• Set up and configure Active Directory, Windows/Linux server environments, and cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP) as required

Backup and Business Continuity

• Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
• Test and validate DR procedures for client and internal environments
• Systems Security and Maintenance
• Apply patch management, endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation
• Support compliance requirements related to systems (ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.)
• Monitor system performance and capacity, proactively addressing issues before they impact uptime

Project and Client Support

• Support project delivery timelines set by the IT Manager for server/systems workstreams
• Coordinate with the Network Engineer to ensure integrated, end-to-end delivery on shared projects
• Generate Service Reports and technical documentation for client deliverables
• Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for systems-related tickets
• Participate in the standby/on-call rotation for client support

Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate new systems technologies and recommend upgrades for reliability/efficiency
• Maintain vendor certifications relevant to systems and virtualization infrastructure
