This opportunity suits engineers who have progressed beyond routine end-user support and are ready to handle escalated incidents, perform approved system changes and follow technical issues through to resolution.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Three positions available
- Hands-on work across business IT systems and infrastructure
- Exposure to escalated troubleshooting, maintenance and recovery activities
- Collaboration with Level 1 teams, technical colleagues and vendors
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Escalated technical support
- Investigate and resolve incidents escalated from Level 1.
- Diagnose issues across endpoints, user identities, networks and servers.
- Keep users and relevant stakeholders informed of progress.
- Escalate issues beyond your access or technical scope with clear supporting evidence.
Systems and infrastructure
- Administer Windows Server services, including Active Directory, file/print services, DNS and DHCP, within the assigned scope.
- Support Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration as required.
- Troubleshoot network and VPN connectivity and carry out approved firewall configuration changes.
- Perform server patching and maintenance within agreed change windows.
Virtualisation, recovery and security
- Support VMware or Hyper-V environments.
- Perform assigned backup and restore activities and verify recovery outcomes.
- Assist with endpoint security alerts and follow established incident-response procedures.
Documentation and coordination
- Maintain accurate incident records, troubleshooting notes and technical handovers.
- Document root causes, fixes and recommendations for recurring problems.
- Coordinate with vendors and application teams where specialist support is needed.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Typically 3-6 years of relevant IT support or infrastructure experience, including hands-on administration.
- Practical experience with Windows Server, directory services and core network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with virtualisation and backup/recovery procedures.
- A structured approach to troubleshooting, change approvals and documentation.
- Clear communication, a service-focused attitude and ownership of assigned issues.
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES
- Experience in an MSP or multi-customer support environment.
- Exposure to Azure or AWS.
- PowerShell or Bash scripting experience.
- Relevant Microsoft, networking, security or IT service-management certifications.
WORK ARRANGEMENT
Work may involve onsite or remote support, depending on customer deployment. An after-office support roster may apply. Deployment details and scheduling will be discussed during the selection process.
