Qualifications

  • Strong vendor and contract management experience.
  • Familiarity with IT governance, audit, risk or compliance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technology projects including system enhancements, upgrades and migrations.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead and support technology initiatives spanning system enhancements, application migrations, operational improvements, governance and emerging technology adoption.

This role combines project delivery, vendor and contract management, IT governance, BAU support and process improvement. You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and external vendors to identify operational pain points, evaluate solutions and drive technology initiatives from planning through implementation.

The role also provides opportunities to explore AI, automation and rapid prototyping to streamline manual processes and improve productivity.

  • Salary Package: Up to $9500 (basic) + AWS
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage technology projects including system enhancements, application upgrades, migrations and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Take ownership of project planning, scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, deliverables and stakeholder communication.
  • Manage external vendors and technology partners, ensuring contractual obligations, service levels, timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Support contract management, including tracking contractual commitments, deliverables, renewals and vendor performance.
  • Ensure systems and projects comply with relevant IT governance, security and information management requirements, such as IM8, ISO 9001/27001 and internal technology policies.
  • Coordinate and support audit and compliance activities, including documentation, evidence gathering, remediation tracking and closure of audit findings.
  • Support BAU systems and users by analysing operational issues, identifying recurring pain points and coordinating appropriate remediation with vendors and technical teams.
  • Analyse existing business processes and translate them into process flows, user journeys and journey maps to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with stakeholders and vendors to evaluate solution options and recommend practical approaches to address business and system challenges.
  • Explore and develop AI-enabled prototypes and Proof-of-Concepts (POCs), including rapid/vibe-coding approaches where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to reduce manual processes, improve productivity and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate testing, implementation, migration, deployment and post-implementation activities to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide clear project reporting and escalates risks, issues and decisions requiring management attention.
Requirements
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in IT project management, technical project delivery, application management or digital transformation.
  • Hands-on experience in vendor and contract management, including managing vendor deliverables, timelines and performance.
  • Experience with IT governance, audit, risk or compliance activities, preferably involving frameworks or standards such as IM8, ISO 9001 and/or ISO 27001.
  • Demonstrated experience taking ownership and accountability for project delivery, including managing scope, timelines, risks, stakeholders and key project decisions.
  • Experience managing system enhancement, migration, implementation or application improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify operational pain points and work with technical teams/vendors on remediation options.
  • Ability to map business processes, workflows and user journeys and translate business needs into actionable technology improvements.
  • Good understanding of application systems, BAU support and technology delivery processes.
  • Exposure to AI tools, automation, low-code/no-code platforms, rapid prototyping or AI-assisted development would be advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives across business, technical and vendor teams.
