Job summary

TempServ Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a Data Science Engineer (IoT) to design, develop, and implement solutions that integrate sensors and devices for smart, connected systems. You will build data pipelines and secure data transmission while optimizing device communication protocols.

You will collaborate with software, hardware, and data science teams to translate user requirements into practical IoT applications that boost operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• 1–2 years IoT experience preferred.
• Proficient in Python.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop IoT systems, including hardware selection, software integration and scalability.
• Implement and optimize microcontrollers, sensors, and edge devices for reliable connectivity.
• Develop pipelines for data collection, processing, and secure transmission between IoT devices and systems.
• Improve, manage, and troubleshoot existing IoT systems for performance and uptime.
• Test and validate IoT systems and components to ensure functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with software, maintenance, hardware, and data science teams.
• Gather user requirements and translate into practical IoT solutions.
• Take on additional tasks as required by supervision in dynamic environments.

As a Data Science Engineer (IoT), you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and implements solutions integrating sensors and devices to enable smart and connected systems. You will build data pipeline and architectures, ensuring secure data transmission, and optimizing device communication protocols. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative IoT applications that enhance operational efficiency, reduce cost and improve product quality.

• Design and develop IoT systems, including hardware selection, software integration and scalability

• Implement and optimize microcontrollers, sensors, and edge devices to ensure seamless hardware-software connectivity

• Develop pipelines for data collection, processing, and secure transmission between IoT devices, machines and systems

• Improve, manage and troubleshoot existing IoT systems to ensure performance, reliability, and uptime

• Conduct testing and validation of IoT systems and components to ensure functionality and performance

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including software developers, maintenance engineers, hardware engineers, and data scientists

• Gather and analyze user requirements, translating them into practical, business-oriented IoT solutions

• Take on additional tasks or responsibilities as required by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility in dynamic work environments

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply)

• 1-2 years of experience in IoT function is preferred

• Proficient in Python

Skills required:

Use of SQL and/or noSQL databases (Postgres/ Oracle/ MongoDB etc.)

Proficient in C/C++ programming

Knowledge in RTOS/embedded systems

Use of Cloud IoT frameworks (AWS IoT/ Google IoT Core/ Azure IoT Hub)

Understanding of security practices in IoT environments

Experience with Edge Machine Learning, Embedded ML, and/or TinyML

Ability to research and apply new technology.
