Job summary

ALBA W&H SMART CITY PTE. LTD. is seeking an hands-on IoT Engineer to deploy and configure sensors/gateways, optimize wireless networks, and integrate devices with cloud services.

You will implement security, troubleshoot connectivity across LAN/WAN, and support IT infrastructure integration with Windows/Linux systems. Fresh grads welcomed; degree in IT/engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi 6/6E, LoRaWAN, cellular IoT and MQTT/CoAP.
• Basic Windows/Linux CLI and networking (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs).
• Familiarity with IoT platforms (AWS/Azure IoT) and dashboards (Grafana/Node-RED).
• CCNA/CompTIA Network+ or CWNP certifications advantageous.
• Cloud certs (AWS/Azure IoT) or Linux/Windows fundamentals preferred.
• Self-starter with good communication and project management skills.

Job description

1. IoT System Deployment & Configuration:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain IoT sensors and gateways
• Set up and optimize wireless networks (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee) for IoT device connectivity
• Integrate IoT devices with central management platforms and cloud services

2. Dashboard & Monitoring:

• Design and configure real-time dashboards for data visualization, alerting, and system health monitoring
• Automate data collection and reporting from IoT devices

3. Networking & Security:

• Implement basic network configurations: VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and IP scheming for segregated IoT environments
• Ensure security hardening of IoT devices, gateways, and networks to prevent vulnerabilities
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructures

4. Systems Integration:

• Support integration of IoT systems with existing IT infrastructure (e.g., Windows/Linux servers, databases)
• Collaborate with software teams for API-based device management and data pipeline setup

5. Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain detailed records of configurations, network topologies, and operational procedures
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., PDPA, GDPR) for IoT deployments

Requirement:

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field. Fresh grad are welcomed for this role!
• Hands-on experience with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi 6/6E, LoRaWAN, cellular IoT) and IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP)
• Basic systems administration (Windows/Linux CLI) and networking skills (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs)
• Familiarity with IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Siemens/Bosch suites) and dashboard tools (e.g., Grafana, Node-RED)
• CCNA/CompTIA Network+, CWNP (Wireless), or vendor certifications (e.g., Axis CCTV, Hikvision, Siemens) is highly advantageous
• Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure IoT Specialty) or Linux/Windows fundamentals is preferred
• A self-starter who is able to work under minimal supervision
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good project management skills and able to multi-task
