Job summary

St. James's Place – Asia & Middle East invites an Investment Manager to join our Portfolio Management team in a cross-regional role based in Hong Kong or Singapore. You will help shape investment decisions, construct portfolios, and govern a diverse range of multi-asset strategies.

You will monitor, analyze, and enhance investment processes while mentoring analysts and collaborating with colleagues across Investments, Risk, and Compliance to deliver superior investment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Approximately 6–10 years in portfolio management or related roles.
• Experience in multi-asset investing and strategic asset allocation.
• Strong analytical capabilities with evidence-based insights.
• Mentoring junior analysts is advantageous.
• CFA Level II or above is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and develop multi-asset investment solutions (passive, systematic, active).
• Deliver high-quality analysis to support decisions and portfolio positioning.
• Act as line manager for analysts, guiding performance and development.

We are seeking an Investment Manager to join our Asia & Middle East Portfolio Management team. Based in either Hong Kong or Singapore, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Portfolio Managers, contributing to investment decision-making, portfolio construction, and investment governance across a diverse range of multi-asset strategies.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play an important role in investment analysis, portfolio monitoring, and the ongoing enhancement of our regional investment proposition.

What you'll be doing:

• Contribute to the monitoring, design, and ongoing development of multi-asset investment solutions (passive, systematic and active funds).
• Deliver high-quality analysis and insights to support investment decisions and portfolio positioning.
• Act as a line manager for analysts within the team, providing coaching, guidance, performance oversight, and support for their professional development.
• Enhance investment frameworks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Support investment governance activities, including reporting and committee discussions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Investments, Risk, Compliance, and the wider business.

What we're looking for

You will be intellectually curious, highly analytical, and passionate about investment management.

We're particularly interested in candidates with:

• Experience in portfolio management, manager research, fund research, asset allocation, multi-asset investing, wealth management, private banking, or broader investment-related roles.
• Experience analysing investment data and generating clear, evidence-based investment insights and recommendations.
• Experience or a strong interest in multi-asset investing and strategic asset allocation.
• Good understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and investment products.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. Experience managing or mentoring junior team members is advantageous.
• The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
• Advanced Excel skills and an interest in leveraging technology to improve outcomes.
• CFA Charterholder or progress towards the CFA qualification is preferred. Candidates who have passed Level II or above are particularly encouraged to apply.
