Job summary

Astor International School in Singapore is seeking a dynamic and visionary Principal to lead its expansion into preschool, primary, and secondary education. You will foster an inquiry-based learning environment and work with the Founder/Directors on school development, curriculum, and budgeting.

The role requires a four-year teaching qualification (Bachelor of Education), a Master’s or leadership certification, and at least 10 years of international school leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum four-year teaching qualification from an internationally recognised university.
• Master’s degree or leadership/management certification preferred.
• At least 10 years of educational experience over primary and/or secondary.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a school setting.
• Experience with inquiry-based curricula such as IPC or IB (IPC preferred).
• Native English speaker with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong track record of staff leadership, school improvement, and curriculum development.
• Minimum of two references from international schools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Teaching and Learning standards across Primary and Secondary School.
• Lead pastoral care, ensuring high standards of student behaviour and well-being.
• Be an integral part of the School Leadership Team and Academic/Exam boards.
• Develop and implement school policies, curriculum strategies, and staff professional development initiatives.
• Drive self-evaluation and improvement planning to enhance school performance.
• Work with Founder/Directors on school development, financial planning, and budgeting.
• Lead recruitment and management of high-quality teaching staff.
• Ensure the school environment, resources, and facilities support effective learning.
