Job summary

Sembcorp Utilities is offering an internship in Centralised Maintenance (Mechanical) at our Singapore, West site. You will join the Maintenance Team (Mechanical) responsible for mechanical systems across plants including a 400 MW gas-fired CPP, a wastewater plant, a battery energy storage system, and cooling water facilities.

You will assist in planning daily work, performing routine PMs, and supporting commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, learning agility, and willingness to perform field-based work.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineer in planning and scheduling daily maintenance work orders.
• Aid maintenance technicians in routine PMs and record keeping.
• Participate in on-site equipment troubleshooting with technicians and engineers.
• Develop hands-on skills in condition monitoring of rotating equipment and valves.
• Assist in commissioning equipment for the 600MW Hydrogen Co-firing plant.
• Compile a condition monitoring report for new equipment.
• Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, manuals, and specifications.
• Prepare maintenance documents for the new power plant (spares list, preventive strategies).
• Support process improvement projects and SAP data collection for maintenance management.

KeyRoles and Responsibilities

This role willjoin the Maintenance Team (Mechanical), which is in-charge of the maintenanceof mechanical systems in the Sembcorp plants at Banyan, Jurong Island. Theplants include:

• 400 MW Combined CycleCo-generation (Producing electricity and steam) Gas-fired Power Plant
• 400m3/hr Biological TreatmentWastewater Treatment Plant
• 143MW Battery Energy StorageSystem
• 30,000 m3/hr Cooling WaterSupply Facilities

Key Responsibilities includes:

• Assist Engineer in planningand scheduling of daily maintenance work orders.
• Aid maintenance technicians inroutine equipment PM works and record keeping.
• Participate in on-siteequipment troubleshooting works together with maintenance technicians andengineers.
• To develop hand-on skills onperforming condition monitoring assessment of rotating equipment andcontrol valves.
• Assist the project engineer inthe commissioning of equipment for an upcoming 600MW Hydrogen Co-firingCombined Cycle Power Plant
• To compile a conditionmonitoring assessment report on all new equipment in the aforementionednew power plant
• Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
• To assist the engineer toprepare maintenance documents for the maintenance management of the newpower plant, including
• 1. Spareslist and philosophy
• 2. PreventiveMaintenance Strategies
• Aid themaintenance engineers in process improvement projects
• Familiarizewith SAP processes and assist the maintenance engineers in collectinginformation for:
• 1. Managementof maintenance work
• 2. Managementof budget
• 3. Sparesmanagement
