Job summary

Sembcorp Industries Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to join the Banyan/Jurong Island plants. You will assist the engineering team in planning daily maintenance, support PMs, and help with commissioning of a new 600MW Hydrogen Co-firing plant.

Requires basic mechanical understanding, strong analytical and communication skills, and willingness to work on site with safety compliance. SAP processes and MS 365 will be used daily.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily maintenance work orders.
• Assist with routine PMs and record-keeping.
• Participate in on-site equipment troubleshooting with technicians and engineers.
• Develop hands-on skills in condition monitoring of rotating equipment and control valves.
• Assist commissioning of the 600MW Hydrogen Co-firing power plant.
• Compile condition monitoring reports for new equipment.
• Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, manuals, and specifications.
• Prepare maintenance documents including spare parts philosophy and PM strategies.
• Assist in process improvement projects and SAP data collection.
• Support budget management and spare parts management.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

This role will join the Maintenance Team (Mechanical), which is in-charge of the maintenance of mechanical systems in the Sembcorp plants at Banyan, Jurong Island. The plants include:

• 400 MW Combined Cycle Co-generation (Producing electricity and steam) Gas-fired Power Plant
• 400m3/hr Biological Treatment Wastewater Treatment Plant
• 143MW Battery Energy Storage System
• 30,000 m3/hr Cooling Water Supply Facilities

Key Responsibilities Includes

• Assist Engineer in planning and scheduling of daily maintenance work orders.
• Aid maintenance technicians in routine equipment PM works and record keeping.
• Participate in on-site equipment troubleshooting works together with maintenance technicians and engineers.
• To develop hand-on skills on performing condition monitoring assessment of rotating equipment and control valves.
• Assist the project engineer in the commissioning of equipment for an upcoming 600MW Hydrogen Co-firing Combined Cycle Power Plant
• To compile a condition monitoring assessment report on all new equipment in the aforementioned new power plant
• Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
• To assist the engineer to prepare maintenance documents for the maintenance management of the new power plant, including
• Spares list and philosophy
• Preventive Maintenance Strategies
• Aid the maintenance engineers in process improvement projects
• Familiarize with SAP processes and assist the maintenance engineers in collecting information for:
• Management of maintenance work
• Management of budget
• Spares management

• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industrial plant equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 for engineering data analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, learning agility, and willingness to perform field-based work.
