Job summary

Evonik Methionine SEA Pte. Ltd. on Jurong Island is seeking an experienced E&I engineer to provide technical leadership for instrumentation and electrical systems.

You will support plant operations, drive maintenance initiatives, and contribute to the safety and reliability of processes in a chemical plant environment. The role requires 3–5 years in maintenance or engineering, strong knowledge of E&I and process controls, and willingness to work in a demanding industrial setting on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Instrumentation or related field is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in maintenance or engineering in relevant industry.
• Solid knowledge in E&I and Process Controls; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide plant engineering and production with technical expertise for E&I equipment and processes.
• Lead maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure production continuity.
• Plan, design, and supervise projects related to DCS, safety, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and select suppliers/service providers; manage budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide plant engineering and production with technical expertise by
• Contributing working knowledge of the specialized E&I equipment
• Providing working knowledge of plant operations (process know-how)
• Providing diverse knowledge of maintenance methods.
• Contributes to maintain and administer facility quality, safety and environmental programs/processes, including non-conformance action items and MOC processes. He/she therefore is in close contact with the relevant departments to be up to date in terms of regulations.
• Provide leadership, guidance and expertise for E&I projects by
• staying abreast of trends and developments in the company and site in general and introduce them to the plants if advantageous
• making him/herself familiar with all E&I systems in his/her area
• identifying suppliers and service providers in the region to meet required standards
• Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting in order to maintain continuity of production by
• Identifying root causes of failures
• Developing and implementing sustainable solutions
• Plan, manage, estimate, design, construct and startup the plant projects associated with DCS and Safety systems, instrumentation, and electrical systems by
• Evaluate different alternatives in a conceptual engineering
• Performing detailed engineering works for the E&I discipline
• Coordinating with related engineering disciplines as required
• Supervising execution of works in the field and ensuring the required quality
• Controlling of budgets and scheduling
• Provide technical expertise on state-of-the-art automation methods and techniques and implement best practices by
• Maintaining knowledge of the latest trends in the areas of field instrumentation, and electrical equipment
• Ensuring know-how exchange with other N&C and Evonik sites
• Provide training for Maintenance and Operations related to E&I related process or process equipment changes by
• Regularly making his/herself familiar with latest changes
• Taking the initiative to identify and train the respective teams
• Take over on a regular and scheduled base the E&I on-call engineer duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor in Instrumentation, Electrical, Process Control or similar
• Min 3-5 years experience in maintenance or engineering in relevant industry
• sound knowledge in E&I and Process Controls

• Office computer with standard software
• Field work in chemical plant environment, handling highly hazardous materials
• Must be willing to work in Jurong Island
