Job summary

Evonik Methionine SEA Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks an Instrument Engineer to provide technical expertise for E&I systems, plan and deliver DCS and safety projects, and support maintenance to ensure continuous production on Jurong Island.

The role requires strong knowledge of process controls, field instrumentation, and collaboration with multiple teams. You will engage in project planning, budgeting, and on-site supervision in a chemical plant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Instrumentation, Electrical, Process Control or similar.
• Min 3–5 years experience in maintenance or engineering in relevant industry.
• Sound knowledge in E&I and Process Controls.
• Motivated and able to work under pressure.
• Team oriented and communicative.
• Office computer with standard software.
• Field work in chemical plant environment, handling highly hazardous materials.
• Willing to work on Jurong Island.

Responsibilities

• Provide plant engineering and production with technical expertise across E&I equipment and process know-how.
• Lead E&I projects by staying updated on trends and coordinating with suppliers and service providers.
• Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting to ensure production continuity by identifying root causes.
• Plan and manage plant projects related to DCS, Safety systems, instrumentation and electrical systems; supervise field execution.
• Provide expertise on state-of-the-art automation methods and share know-how with other sites.
• Train Maintenance and Operations teams on E&I/process changes.
• Take regular on-call E&I engineer duties.
