Job summary

TUV SUD PSB PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an Inspector to support the SCDF Product Listing Scheme (PLS) certification activities for Scheme 5 and Scheme 2 products.

The role involves conducting factory and product inspections, surveillance activities, and assessing compliance with SCDF standards. You will review test reports and quality records, coordinate sampling, and document findings while liaising with manufacturers and internal teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial, periodic and surveillance inspections of manufacturing facilities under SCDF PLS Scheme.
• Assess manufacturing processes, production controls, quality systems and product conformity against applicable SCDF standards.
• Review technical documents including test reports, specifications, drawings and quality records during inspections.
• Conduct product sampling and coordinate samples for testing when required.
• Identify and document non-conformities, evaluate corrective actions and follow up on closure.
• Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports and supporting records.
• Monitor surveillance schedules and ensure inspections are completed within the certification cycle.
• Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams on inspection requirements and findings.
• Support continuous improvement and digitalisation of the PLS inspection process.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial, periodic and surveillance inspections of manufacturing facilities under SCDF PLS Scheme.
• Assess manufacturing processes, production controls, quality systems and product conformity against applicable standards and SCDF requirements.
• Review technical documents including test reports, product specifications, drawings and quality records when conducting factory and site inspections.
• Conduct product sampling and coordinate samples for testing where required.
• Identify and document non-conformities, evaluate corrective actions and follow up on their closure.
• Prepare clear, accurate and timely inspection reports and supporting records.
• Monitor surveillance schedules and ensure inspections are completed within the required certification cycle.
• Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams on inspection requirements and technical findings.
• Support continuous improvement and digitalisation of the PLS inspection process.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Building & Construction, Fire Safety, Materials Science or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in inspection, testing, certification, quality assurance or conformity assessment.
• Experience with SCDF PLS Scheme 2 and/or Scheme 5 is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of technical standards, manufacturing processes and product conformity assessment.
• Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications and test reports.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and sound technical judgement.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple assignments effectively.
• Willing to travel locally and overseas for factory inspections.
