Job summary

TÜV SÜD PSB Pte Ltd is seeking an Inspector to support SCDF PLS certification activities for Scheme 5 and Scheme 2 products. The role involves conducting factory and product inspections, surveillance, and technical assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with SCDF requirements.

Responsibilities include reviewing test reports and specifications, coordinating sampling, and communicating findings to manufacturers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Building & Construction, Fire Safety, Materials Science or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and technical judgement with attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications and test reports.
• Willing to travel locally and overseas for inspections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial, periodic and surveillance inspections of manufacturing facilities under SCDF PLS Scheme.
• Assess manufacturing processes, production controls, quality systems and product conformity against standards.
• Review technical documents including test reports, product specifications, drawings and quality records.
• Coordinate product sampling and testing as required.
• Identify non-conformities, evaluate corrective actions and track closures.
• Prepare inspection reports and supporting records.
• Monitor surveillance schedules to meet certification cycles.
• Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams on inspection requirements.
• Support digitalisation of the PLS inspection process.

We are seeking a Inspector to support the SCDF Product Listing Scheme (PLS) certification activities for Scheme 5 and Scheme 2 products. The role involves conducting factory and product inspections, surveillance activities, technical assessments, and ensuring continued compliance with applicable standards and SCDF requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial, periodic and surveillance inspections of manufacturing facilities under SCDF PLS Scheme.
• Assess manufacturing processes, production controls, quality systems and product conformity against applicable standards and SCDF requirements.
• Review technical documents including test reports, product specifications, drawings and quality records when conducting factory and site inspections.
• Conduct product sampling and coordinate samples for testing where required.
• Identify and document non-conformities, evaluate corrective actions and follow up on their closure.
• Prepare clear, accurate and timely inspection reports and supporting records.
• Monitor surveillance schedules and ensure inspections are completed within the required certification cycle.
• Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams on inspection requirements and technical findings.
• Support continuous improvement and digitalisation of the PLS inspection process.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Building & Construction, Fire Safety, Materials Science or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in inspection, testing, certification, quality assurance or conformity assessment.
• Experience with SCDF PLS Scheme 2 and/or Scheme 5 is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of technical standards, manufacturing processes and product conformity assessment.
• Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications and test reports.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and sound technical judgement.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple assignments effectively.
• Willing to travel locally and overseas for factory inspections.
