Job summary

QUANTUM INFOTECH SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer in Singapore to design and implement server and storage infrastructure for enterprise applications. You will size servers, coordinate with planning and vendors, and drive hardware procurement and deployment across VM and physical environments.

You will also manage network/IP allocation, security IDs, backups, data transfers, and integration with change control and deployment tools.

Qualifications

• At least 12-15 years of IT Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Experience in server sizing and BOM discussions with Planning, vendors and Dev teams.
• Experience in hardware procurement process including PR/PO workflow.
• Hands-on with VM/physical server setup, OS installation and configuration.
• Network/IP allocation and firewall setup experience.
• Storage provisioning for DAS, SAN, NAS and file systems on VMs and physical servers.
• Experience with OS hardening, user/group management and security controls.
• Experience with backup, data transfer and data sourcing tools.
• Familiarity with Oracle/Maria DB preparation and administration.
• Proficiency with scripting, automation and version control tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare server sizing requirements (BOM) based on data needs.
• Engage with planning, vendors, and Dev teams for hardware and quotes.
• Coordinate PR & PO workflows with procurement and finance teams.
• Set up VM and physical servers including OS install and config.
• Coordinate IP allocation and network firewall rules for clusters.
• Provision storage (DAS/SAN/NAS) and filesystem layouts (NFS/GPFS).
• Configure DNS and OS/security IDs; manage access controls.
• Collaborate with backup teams for daily/weekly/monthly policies.
• Coordinate data transfer setups (SFTP/ConnectDirect) and DB setups.
• Work with Change Management and deployment tools (ALDON LMe, ClearCase).

Job description

• Must have at least 12 -15 years of experience inITInfrastructure Engineering tasks based on the application requirements.
• Involve in preparing the server sizing requirements (i.e. BOM), by discussing and engaging with Planning team, application vendors, Dev team, based on data requirement and data processing requirements.
• After conclusion of hardware requirement, Application team need to engage with different teams to get the required quotation, generate the memo and proceed with PR & PO, based on PO procurement team, will procure the requirement.
• Based on the application hardware capacity requirements, need to engage with Build & Engineering team to setup the Virtual machine, Physical servers, for activities like cabling, hostname allocation, OS Installation & configuration with required CPU, Memory and storage requirements.
• Work with Network team for IP allocation.
• Plan and create the different filesystem based on the application need.
• To engage with storage team for allocation of the required DAS, SAN, NAS storage to different application file system likes NFS, GPFS, Non GPFS on VMs and Physical servers as per the need.
• DNS Setup.
• Worked with security team to create application specific OS IDs, Group, assignment of ids to specific group.
• To open the network firewall between the application cluster for application specific ports and to specific building, floor for server access etc.
• Email setup, port opening and white listing the App servers to send email notification status for job completion etc.
• Cups setup, raise deviation, open ports, request for install/config and setup the printer queue for R2Wreport publishing.
• Worked with Media Management, Tape librarian & NBU team for server OS & Application file system backup for daily incremental, weekly full & Monthly long retention policy backups and their setup, based on the application requirement.
• Worked with upstream and downstream system for data sourcing setups like Connect Direct setup, SFTP setup to source the application related data.
• Worked with DB team for Oracle DB & Maria DB setup for different applications.
• Worked with Change management team to setup version control and deployment tools like ALDON LMe, IBM Clear case etc.
• BMC Control-M setup, like mapping the CTM agent into the CTM Master server for control-m job execution.
• Proficiency in Linux administrative tasks.
• Knowledgein Oracle Administration Tasks and PYTHON.
• Proficiency in writing Shell Scripts and automating the Jobs.
• Setup knowledge on Data transfer between the servers using the C:D (i.e. connect direct), SFTP (i.e. SSH) and secure copy (i.e. SCP).
• Experience in HP Quality Center, JIRA Defect logging administrative tasks like user creation, assigning privileges and logging defects.
• Experience in RMF (Release Management Frame) work, its also called as a Clear Case/Aldon LMe for version controlling and release management to SIT, UAT & Production.
• Knowledge in Version controlling tools like PVCS, Tortoise SVN, GIT etc.
• Proficiency in windows Batch Scripting and BMC Control-M, Tivoli Scheduling.
• Knowledge on other scheduling applications like IBM Tivoli, Cron Jobs, SAS LSF, Windows Scheduled Tasks etc.
• Strong working knowledge on analysis of clinical trial data, generating reports, tables, listings, graphs and summaries as per company standards.
• Certificate of completion on following SAS Provided Trainings i.e. SAS Platform Administration, SAS Visual Analytics & SAS campaign studio.
• Competency in Microsoft office tools like excel, power-point etc.
• Experience in accessing data from relational databases.
• Ability to learn and adapt new technologies quickly. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Completed online course on Bigdata HADOOP Frame work and SPARK (i.e., SCALA & Pyspark).
• Knowledge on HTML, CSS and Java Scripts.
• JBOSS EPA 8.X & Cloudera& NIFI setup etc.
