Job summary

MyRepublic is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to maintain backend systems and Proxmox VE across locations. You’ll monitor core services, respond to incidents, and support daily operations in a hybrid work setup.

Requires 2+ years in system administration, Linux expertise, virtualization (Proxmox/VMware/Hyper-V/KVM), and scripting with Bash or Python. Familiarity with VA/PT and security monitoring is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in System Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related role.
• Strong experience administering Linux-based operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as Proxmox VE, VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPN, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Experience with monitoring platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, ELK Stack, Splunk, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, system hardening, security monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support backend systems for our telecommunications network, aiming for 99.9% uptime.
• Manage internal cloud servers and storage infrastructure running Proxmox VE across multiple locations.
• Support daily infrastructure operations, troubleshoot system issues, and respond to technical queries from internal departments.
• Implement and manage monitoring solutions for core network functions to identify issues and threats.
• Analyse system and security logs, develop event rules, and prepare reports for critical incidents.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and work with VA/PT providers on remediation.
• Develop and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and processes.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and cybersecurity best practices.
